PICK'S IN! SUMMER CAMP 2026 WE WILL RETURN TO CAMP KEOWA

ABOUT CAMP KEOWA

Camp Keowa sits on the shores of massive Crystal Lake, nestled in the Catskill Mountains.

Campers enjoy ATVs, water trampoline, zipline, horseback riding, waterskiing, wide merit-badge selection, and our versatile Trek programs. Enjoy your meals in a large Dining Hall full of camp history. The Keowa Staff are known for their spirit, singing, and enthusiasm!

→ We are proud of our broad range of adult leader opportunities. From important training courses like IOLS and Position Specific Trainings to programs like adult rifle competitions, Caveman Golf, and rowboat fishing, even leaders will have fun and accomplish more at Camp Keowa.

→ Offered every week, Scouts participating in Eagle Camp can work on silver border merit badges, participate in a mock Board of Review and get help in planning their projects. They also are able to send in unfinished requirements after camp to complete their badges!

Join us for a memorable summer camp experience at Camp Keowa, Ten Mile River. Scouts will remember forever the campfires in Thunderbird Theater overlooking iconic Crystal Lake. Welcome home.

At summer camp, one of the essentials is a good camp locker. Below are links for 2 different types. Both work great, I will say from having both the lids on the Walmart ones aren't as sturdy and my son cracked his standing on it (don't ask) during his first summer camp. Saying that, with a little duck tape, he still uses it and its held up great!

An essential for summer camp is a good mosquito net for the scouts to sleep in at night in their tent. Below is a link for the main one most scouts have bought over the years. This isn't a requirement, but is recommended for making the scouts feel more comfortable when bugs may be more active in the summer in more open tarped tents offered at summer camp:

A complete list of recommended Camping equipment is available for download on the https://troop7155.com/forms page.

The 2026 Summer Camp T shirts will be available for order through the Troop's store.

Scouts are allowed to bring their cell phones for the car ride and when certain merit badges or rank up requirements ask for photos or research etc. Other than that, we will collect all cell phones and store them until we depart again on Saturday. For new scouts, its very challenging to go to their first all week camp experience, and we have consistently seen that Troops who are allowed to have phones have much harder times adjusting to summer camp and have much more home sick emotions with access to the phone and the ability to call home constantly. We will post photos daily to the Troop Facebook page and if you have any questions while we are away you may contact myself (Bruce Pilarczyk) with any concerns you may have. Every older scout that is attending has had these same experiences and worries at their first summer camp, and I believe they would all tell you now they just can't wait to attend and have a great time every year. Quite consistently, within 2 days or so into camp, all of the nervous butterflies are gone and the only thing they focus on is having fun with their fellow scouts!

If your scout has daily medication needs, please have them bagged and labeled clearly with dosing instructions, timing and their full name. We will administer them as required for each scout, and if any medication requires refrigeration we will utilize the medical lodge at the camp.
