ABOUT RESICA FALLS
Situated in the beautiful Pocono Mountains, Resica Falls Scout Reservation is a 4,200-acre Scouting Paradise. Set in an endless track of mountain trails, clear streams, and waterfalls, Resica has an amazing program of activities for Scouts to enjoy during their summer camp experience and beyond. This paradise is home to hundreds of different trees, plants, and animals, and to over 3,000 Scouts each summer.
In 1957, the Valley Forge and Philadelphia Councils entered into a joint venture to develop this magnificent piece of land into a camp for Scouts to enjoy for generations to come. Although the Valley Forge Council would become the sole proprietor of the property in 1965, these same two councils would merge in 1996, creating the Cradle of Liberty Council. The Council would later enter into a land trust agreement, preserving the property forever as an undeveloped forest for Scouting use. In 2027, Resica Falls will celebrate its 70th anniversary.
The camp capacity is 600 participants each week in our Dining Hall operation. The Ranjo Clock Tower serves as a central meeting place outside the Dining Hall on the Parade Field. The camp boasts two shower house facilities that can accommodate both male and female campers and leaders. Our pool features a three-story water slide and Lake Roger – a 27-acre lake – is home to a trampoline and other aquatic park features, in addition to sailing, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and rowing. Since 2010, we have significantly upgraded the following program areas in camp: Rifle & Shotgun Ranges, Archery Range, Handicraft, STEM Center, Shop, ATV Course, Native American Village, and the COPE & Climbing Course. Since 2014, we have been upgrading our campsites with new tents, platforms, picnic tables, and carport canopies. The Richards Arena, our campfire amphitheater, seats 900 people and is state-of-the-art in lights and sound.

At summer camp, one of the essentials is a good camp locker. Below are links for 2 different types. Both work great, I will say from having both the lids on the Walmart ones aren't as sturdy and my son cracked his standing on it (don't ask) during his first summer camp. Saying that, with a little duck tape, he still uses it and its held up great!

An essential for summer camp is a good mosquito net for the scouts to sleep in at night in their tent. Below is a link for the main one most scouts have bought over the years. This isn't a requirement, but is recommended for making the scouts feel more comfortable when bugs may be more active in the summer in more open tarped tents offered at summer camp:

The 2027 Summer Camp T shirts will be available for order through the Troop's store in early summer 2027.
Scouts are allowed to bring their cell phones for the car ride and when certain merit badges or rank up requirements ask for photos or research etc. Other than that, we will collect all cell phones and store them until we depart again on Saturday. For new scouts, its very challenging to go to their first all week camp experience, and we have consistently seen that Troops who are allowed to have phones have much harder times adjusting to summer camp and have much more home sick emotions with access to the phone and the ability to call home constantly. We will post photos daily to the Troop Facebook page and if you have any questions while we are away you may contact myself (Bruce Pilarczyk) with any concerns you may have. Every older scout that is attending has had these same experiences and worries at their first summer camp, and I believe they would all tell you now they just can't wait to attend and have a great time every year. Quite consistently, within 2 days or so into camp, all of the nervous butterflies are gone and the only thing they focus on is having fun with their fellow scouts!
If your scout has daily medication needs, please have them bagged and labeled clearly with dosing instructions, timing and their full name. We will administer them as required for each scout, and if any medication requires refrigeration we will utilize the medical lodge at the camp.
